Favorite Things- July 2017

It’s well into July! And it’s time to talk about some of my favorites for this month!

It is officially warm weather, outdoors activity season! Especially for Indiana. Which means that I am going to be looking at some products that have to do with those!

Insect Repellent

First, I don’t know about where you live BUT in Indiana there are BUGS. The worst things are the mosquitoes! Ugh. I hate going out in the evening and getting all my blood sucked out by those buggers… Or even getting any type of mosquito-spread type disease freaks me out. One thing that has really helped me this summer has been my essential oils. If you have been on my site  before, you know I love my oils, and I HATE the idea of using DEET or other nasty chemicals on my or my family’s skin. So one evening the mosquitoes started buzzing around me, and I went inside and added some Purification by Young Living to my wrists, my shoulders, my knees, and my ankles. Purification contains citronella which critters, like mosquitoes, hate. I went back outside, and NOT ONE mosquito bothered me. I saw one fly up to my upper arm, then he flew away! I was amazed! Well, now Youth Living has come out with some NEW products, and one is… INSECT REPELLENT! This repellent is made with 100% naturally derived, plant-based ingredients! It also contains NO DEET, no parabens, no fillers, no phthalates, no petrochemicals, no animal-derived ingredients, no synthetic preservatives, no synthetic fragrances, and no synthetic colorants! And it’s vegan friendly!  I am SO excited about this! You can check out this product HERE.  The product detail sheet can be found HERE. It retails for $50.99 for this 6 oz bottle BUT if you are a member it is only $38.75. If you’d like to look into a membership, look HERE.  You can get items considerably cheaper with your membership. And who doesn’t want to provide a healthier alternative to those nasty bug sprays?

Another thing I love for summer are metal tubs. Weird? Hang with me a second. I use these for serving drinks when we have friends or family over.  I have 2 sizes. The one pictured above which holds about 20-22 can of soda or bottles, or I have a much larger one that probably holds 50 or more cans or bottles. This also includes ice. It is GREAT for holding drinks and still being pretty. Of course you can stick boxes of beverages out BUT this is so handy- add drinks and ice, and then it’s good to go for hours and hours! You can find these at antique stores, and even places like Hobby Lobby.

Last, but definitely not least, it’s summer (duh!) and it is more important than ever to stay hydrated. I just received this CUTE glass bottle by BKR.  I got mine with my FabFitFun box last month. You can still get the FabFitFun boxes HERE. This glass bottle has been dropped a few times, but the rubbery blue exterior has saved it! I love that there is a little handle, I use it to carry it with me to work. I also love to add essential oils to my water, AND it doesn’t harm the bottle at all! My bottle retails for $35 on the BKR website (with free shopping over $35) but if you get the FabFitFun box, you pay $49 for the entire box of goodies! (And if you go through my link HERE, you get $15 off the first purchase!) This bottle is seriously handy, and I must say, they have some SUPER cute colors and designs on the BKR site. Check them out, and stay hydrated with summer!

These are just a FEW of my Favorite Things for July! Have a great day, and don’t forget to follow my blog, and make sure to subscribe to emails! 🙂
